This plant is something very special: it has a day-night rhythm.
During the day, the feathered leaf fronds are unfolded and after dusk, the whole thing is folded up. It then looks like a loosely folded umbrella.
This is a wonderful way to show children that plants also "sleep".
The plant also reacts to too much light or very strong touch.
However, it is not a palm in the botanical sense - it belongs to the clover plants and is therefore very unproblematic in the care.
