Szechuan pepper - The "fragrant" Bonsai for your windowsill
The Sichuan pepper will enrich your windowsill with a very special scent: its interesting leaves smell of citrus and hot pepper at the same time. Although it has nothing to do with our well-known black pepper, its seeds are used in the Chinese province of Sichuan to spice up dishes. These seeds give Sichuan dishes their characteristic taste. Unfortunately, the plant will not develop seeds in our latitudes, but there are interesting flower heads in summer.
This Sichuan pepper has been lovingly handcrafted for you for years.

Botanical name: Zantoxylum piperitum
Age: approx. 8 years
Bowl size: approx. 18 x 12cm including matching saucer
Total height: approx. 25-30cm
Location: bright, warm window spot - preferably outdoors in summer
Watering: in summer about 2-3 times a week - a Zanthoxylum should never dry out
Only water again when the soil is only slightly moist. Do the finger test!
Our tip: Instead of watering your tree, put it in a water bath once a week for 10 minutes!
Fertilization: in summer every 2-3 weeks - in winter every 4-6 weeks
