Szechuan Pepper - The "Fragrant" Bonsai for Your Windowsill
The Szechuan pepper will enrich your windowsill with a very special fragrance: its interesting leaves smell simultaneously of citrus and spicy pepper. Although it has nothing to do with our well-known black pepper, its seeds are used in the Chinese province of Szechuan to spice up dishes. These seeds give Szechuan dishes their characteristic flavor. Unfortunately, the plant will not develop seeds in our regions, but there are interesting flower clusters in the summer.
This Szechuan pepper has been lovingly hand-crafted for you over the years.

Botanical Name: Zantoxylum piperitum
Age: approx. 12-15 years
Pot Size: approx. 28 x 18cm including matching saucer
Total Height: approx. 40-50cm
Location: bright, warm windowsill - preferably outdoors in the summer
Watering: in summer about 2-3 times a week - a Zanthoxylum should never dry out
Water again only when the soil is just slightly moist.

Our tip:
Instead of watering, place your tree in a water bath for 10 minutes once a week!
Fertilization:
in summer every 2-3 weeks
in winter every 4-6 weeks
