Our broom heather brings intense color to your garden and balcony. These frost-resistant plants are very hardy and robust.
The advantage of budding bloomers is their long shelf life: the many small individual flowers never bloom completely. Thus, they retain their beautiful color for a long time and are insensitive to wind and weather. This also gives them their long blooming period into the winter.
Our callunas are also very frugal when it comes to nutrient requirements, as fertilization is not normally necessary. However, if you want to keep the heather attractive for years to come, you should cut back the foliage in the spring and fertilize the plants lightly. Since callunas prefer an acidic soil, a fertilizer with a low nitrogen content is suitable. For permanent planting in the bed, we recommend rhododendron soil, but regular potting soil will suffice for one season.
