With its black-brown leaf stalks, chocolate mint already looks a lot like chocolate. The aroma of the leaves is a composition of peppermint and chocolate. No wonder the English were the first Europeans to give mint a place in the kitchen. They added it to ice cream and creamy dishes and invented chocolate mint pralines. The English mint sauce was possibly inspired by Indian chutneys.
