Piper sylvaticum is a rare climber from the Himalayas. There it grows wild under the canopy of subtropical rain forests. Hence its nickname: sylvaticum - growing in the forest.
The climbing pepper has heart-shaped leaves of a silvery hue with unusually only the veins being a deep green. Ribs and furrows appear as the leaves age
