What grandmother already knew: This well-known and extremely frugal houseplant is ideal for locations with little light. Its name Schusterpalme comes not least from the fact that it was often found in the dark shoemaker''s workshops - precisely because it got by with the little light. But that doesn''t have to be the case - it gets along well with bright locations.
Their dark green narrow leaves are also often used as cut green by florists.
From a purely botanical point of view, however, Aspidistra is not a palm tree at all, but rather related to asparagus and lily of the valley.
