Isotoma fluviatilis, also known as the blue flowering plant or creeping isotome, is a delicate yet extremely hardy, ground-covering perennial plant. It forms dense, carpet-like cushions of small, green leaves and tiny, star-shaped flowers that glow a delicate blue or white in summer.
The plant is ideal as a hardy ground cover in shady or semi-shady locations, as well as for joints in paving or rock gardens. Isotoma fluviatilis prefers moist, well-drained soil and is easy to care for. Its rapid spread and fine flowers make it a popular alternative to classic moss or lawn substitutes in gardens.
Blooms profusely from June to September.
