Bananas in Baden-Baden?
What sounds like science fiction is reality. You can keep our hardy bananas indoors, but they can and should also be outdoors.
Our Darjeeling banana (Musa sikkemensis) is one of the hardiest banana varieties. It comes from the Himalayas or northern Thailand and is therefore well prepared to survive our winters. However, we recommend wrapping the plant in a reed mat or similar in winter.
The young leaves of this unusual plant have beautiful red markings.
Adult specimens can reach over 3 meters in height and can also become quite sprawling. Plan enough space.
You should also keep in mind that the plant needs a lot of water and fertilizer for its rapid growth.
