Gazanias are the absolute sun worshippers among balcony flowers. Originally from South Africa, the midday gold is suitable for the hottest sunny balconies. Where other plants let their heads droop in the heat, gazanias feel right at home.
This plant species develops into a carpet of flowers, the more sunlight it receives, the wider the flowers open. This also applies to the course of the day: the flowers are closed in the morning and the gold can only be seen in its full splendor around midday. The flowers then close again towards evening.
