Its name immediately conjures up images of dense coniferous forests and decaying wood, but the mushroom herb, which looks like basil on the outside, is exotic and originally comes from Papua New Guinea. However, the leaves of the aromatic mushroom herb are much thicker than basil leaves and their taste is reminiscent of fresh mushrooms. It can be eaten raw in salads, cooked like vegetables or used in soups and sauces. It is advisable to add the herb towards the end of the cooking process.
