Cheese herb is an amazing herb because it actually tastes like cheese! Ideal for all veggie lovers who are looking for a plant-based alternative. The young, tender leaves have a unique camembert flavor and a slight spiciness. In Vietnam, where the cheese herb originally comes from and is called "La Mo Long", it is one of the most important condiments. Sprinkled over pizza, raw in salads or as an ingredient for your culinary experiments - cheese is always a good choice!
Perennial indoors
Sunny location outdoors in summer
Growing height: up to 80 cm
USE
The young leaves are used. Their taste and smell are reminiscent of Camembert and have a slight hint of radish. The leaves are coarsely chopped and give the dish the desired cheese flavor. In Vietnam, it is used, among other things, to make hard-to-digest, high-protein dishes more digestible. The plant also looks very pretty and looks good on balconies and terraces as well as indoors as a houseplant.
CARE
The cheese herb prefers a bright, sunny location. The plant is perennial but not hardy and should therefore be kept indoors in winter. It can be planted in a hanging basket or grown as a climbing plant with a climbing support. Seed-resistant variety.
