The Senecio stapeliformis is a rarity among the succulents and comes from southern Africa. Their thick-fleshed, pencil-like stems that grow straight up are impressive. These have a green-silver-white pattern and soft spikes on the side. You can attach the green-silver-white shoots to a climbing aid, then they will be up to 40cm high. Without the trellis, it will continue to grow hanging or crawling.
